Why so small

Nobody here is a room number.

Rose Manor is our family’s home, and it’s licensed for just six residents. Six people means we know how each person takes their coffee, which chair they like by the window, and what a good day looks like for them.

Large facilities rotate staff through dozens of residents. Here, the same faces cook the meals, give the medications, and are there in the middle of the night. It’s the care we’d want for our own parents, and it’s the reason we chose to keep the home small.

Come on in

Through the red door.

A quiet street in east Vancouver, a front porch with flowers, and a bright living room with a fireplace and a big family table. It looks like a home because it is one.

Every resident has their own space, with shared rooms that are made for company: meals together, a TV for the afternoon game, and a covered patio out back for fresh air in any weather.

A day at Rose Manor

Unhurried, and built around each person.

  1. A gentle start

Help with bathing, dressing and grooming at each person’s own pace, then morning medications.

  2. Around one table

A set menu for breakfast, lunch and dinner, cooked in our kitchen and adjusted for diets, textures and tastes.

  3. Something to look forward to

A walk outside, a trip to the park or the store, games together, visits from family, or a quiet nap in the recliner.

  4. Dinner and wind-down

Supper together, evening medications, and help getting ready for bed.

  5. Someone is always up

Caregivers are here through the night for turns, bathroom help or simply company.

Personal care
Bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting and help getting around the house, with dignity and patience.
Medication management
Medications given on schedule, tracked, and coordinated with doctors and pharmacies.
Home-cooked meals
A planned menu for breakfast, lunch and dinner, plus snacks, built around dietary needs and personal favorites.
24-hour supervision
Caregivers live and work in the home, so help is close by day and night.
Housekeeping & laundry
Clean rooms, fresh linens and personal laundry, all handled in the home.
Games, walks & outings
Games and music at home, walks outside, and trips to the park and the shops together.
Nurse delegation
A registered nurse delegates and oversees care tasks like medications, so they’re done safely and by the book.
Doctor appointments
We take residents to their doctor appointments when needed, and keep the family in the loop.

Paying for care

We accept private pay, and we can talk you through Washington’s Medicaid long-term care programs (COPES and Community First Choice), which can cover care in an adult family home for people who qualify. Call us and we’ll walk through the options together.
